Connector. Philanthropist. Trusted Advisor.
MEET ALISON PATTERSON
I grew up in a small town in the mountains of Southeastern Kentucky and if you grew up like I did, you know philanthropy looked like scouting, 4H, church pot luck suppers, school fundraisers and giving back to the community that raised us.
It still does.
I love working to connect meaningful giving to communities. Whatever that looks like to you. I love developing new ways to connect generosity to our world. I love hearing the stories and passions of others and illuminating and celebrating their success.
I love to learn and I love to give. Just like you my generosity and learning has changed over time. Sometimes I have time, sometimes its connections, sometimes its money and sometimes it’s all three. And sometimes I need to just sit back and figure out what I don’t know.
And sometimes I just don’t have time to do it all.
This is where Patterson Philanthropic Advisors can help.
Because you value a charitable lifestyle I want to help you align your philanthropy to create deeper change for the causes you believe in.
I will help you move from reactive to proactive giving.
I will help you create a clear plan to share with family and trusted advisors.
I will help you engage in the parts of giving that are meaningful to you.
I will celebrate the change you create.
If you need me to, I will oversee the details of your plan to keep you on track.
In short, I will simplify your process, while lightening your load.
What I Believe.
At Patterson Philanthropic Advisors, I work with you to navigate all aspects of your generosity. Your goals are MY goals. Philanthropy is MY mission and I am with you every step of the way.
Philanthropy in its purest form means, in the original Greek meaning, “the love of humanity”. Philanthropy is defined as, “Giving, serving, and individual action intended for the common good”. Professor Robert Payton
I believe that trust and integrity are the basis for all relationships and that a guided approach to philanthropic planning should be accessible to everyone. I believe in an intentional plan for giving, and that by being intentional we create the change we want to see in the world.
I believe that generosity is meaningful no matter our wealth level, age or how we choose to be generous, that we can do our “little bit of good where we are”.
I believe in the change that the simple act of giving creates in our own backyard and around the world.
The question is not just what the world needs. It’s where you have a rare gift to give.
